Located in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand North Shore Brass is the country's newest A Grade Brass Band. Formed over 90 years ago the band was previously known as the Takapuna City Silver Band and achieved promotion by becoming  the B Grade Champion Band of New Zealand at the 2003 Brass Band Championships in Rotorua. Further success followed in 2007 when North Shore Brass won the prestigious New Zealand Band of the Year title.  2010 proved to be another landmark year for the band when it achieved its best result at a N.Z. Brass Band Championships winning the A Grade Test and finishing first runner-up overall. Although actively performing all over the greater Auckland region North Shore Brass has a close working relationship with the local North Shore community as well as regularly competing at both regional and national brass band competitions.

Rehearsal nights are Monday and Wednesday ( 7.45pm start ) at the North Shore Brass Bandrooms,13A Taharota Rd, Takapuna, Auckland. Visitors and new players are very welcome.
